Something New: AUDIOSCENIC Debuts New Tech as Headline Partner at Inaugural GearCon LDN

17 September 2026

AUDIOSCENIC is proud to be headline partner of GearCon LDN 2026. Across the two days of the show, Sept 18-19, we'll be in Unit 10 as part of the Immersive Playground, running live demonstrations on the newest embodiment of our technology, the AUDIOSCENIC SBX-1. The SBX-1 is the first loudspeaker studio monitor for spatial audio that requires- no dedicated room, no separate multichannel install, and no acoustic treatment.

It will be the first time anyone outside of a lab has heard it in person.

What is the SBX-1?

The SBX-1 exists because professional spatial audio production maintains a high barrier or forced compromise. The industry has been asking for another solution, and we’re delighted to introduce it.

Headphones are accessible, but they leave engineers mixing blind if there’s no loudspeaker reference to check decisions against. Translation to loudspeaker playback is unreliable, internalisation and localisability confusion creep in, and fatigue builds across long sessions.

The industry-standard alternative is a dedicated 7.1.4 or similar loudspeaker rig - but that comes with its own barrier. The significant cost, space requirements and complexity of installation make it unreachable for most working engineers and creators, and it demands a room large enough to permanently house that single fixed setup - a serious investment tied to one space.

The SBX-1 makes creating immersive content more accessible and practical than ever before.

A single, portable loudspeaker array that delivers spatial audio monitoring in the spaces you already work in. No dedicated room, no acoustic treatment, no complex installation. Just send a binaural mixdown from your DAW, place the SBX-1 at your workstation and get to work.

The technology doing the work is Beamcasting®, Audioscenic's proprietary real-time listener position-sensing and adapting speaker array technology, developed over more than 10 years of research. As the listener, it places you at the centre of a three-dimensional sound field and keeps you there, adapting the sweet spot real time as you move

The SBX-1 is format agnostic, compatible with Dolby Atmos, IAMF/Eclipsa and any other spatial audio workflow that can create a binaural output, and works with all major DAWs including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Nuendo, Reaper and DaVinci Resolve. It integrates into your existing workflow without disruption, no additional hardware, no multichannel interface, no reconfiguration.

This is the same core Beamcasting® technology already integrated in consumer electronics with premium laptops, monitors and soundbars from Lenovo, Dell, Acer and Razer.

GearCon is where it enters professional production for the very first time.
